Default Greetings from New York City!

I have had an aquarium for over 30 years (on and off) as well as other numerous pets. Currently I am addicted to nano aquariums, have recently set up my new 12 gallon Fluval Edge. I have this strange feeling this will not be my last Edge. I am assembling my stock as we speak, waiting on a delivery of orange zebra otos, celestial danios. In love with chilly rasboras, various killies. Also have 4 cherry red shrimps, on the look out for other varieties (choices, choices!) and a horned nerite snail. Experimenting with different plants too.

Joined this site since the advise and knowledge posted is top of the range and has helped me in my discoveries. If anyone is interested in nano aquariums, has them, please let me know your choice of fish, plants and tips.

One of my favorite sites: Invertebrates by Msjinkzd | Specializing in invertebrates and micro fish from around the world.

Fantastic selection of inverts and small really attractive fish.

Thank you.

It's good to be close to someone like Rachel

Any pics of your tank, maybe start a journal?

If you plan on adding the shrimp to the same tank as the cherries, go with a cardina sp. maybe CRS?

I have a 11.4G mr. Aqua. Check it out in my signature!

And welcome to the forum!

Welcome to APE!!

Your a veteran in your filed with 30+ years under your belt. Nano fish and shrimp are some of our favorites, then again I think I have to may favorites. Dwarf Cichlids are my favorite, I think. Altums are up there for me as well.

Not dwarf Peacock

Some years ago I made a list of known dwarf plants or plants that could be maintained to a lower stature. Here's the link to my Google Docs, it's not a long list but maybe there are some things on it you might have missed, probably only a few. I hope it helps you.

Thank you all very much for the replies. Yes, I will be getting two or three CRS, however the choices of small shrimps is quite large, I am thinking of a smaller, 6 G edge just for shrimps - too tempting. I like the idea of cichlids, but won't they (even dwarf size) disrupt a community set up? I have placed a photo of my edge as my avatar - dumb question - how can I post pictures from a url? I love the 95G photos, especially the progression in time. That is a dream tank!

Thank you too for the list of plants - copied for future study! The choice of plants in NYC leaves a lot to be desired to say the least. I am planning to visit a store in Jersey (an hours drive from my place), they seem to have a very nice selection.

BTW - love the baby tears on the rasbora photo - that is something that I will get. I am waiting for my otos and CPDs. I will post photos of my set up as soon as I figure out how!

Thank you again.
