I went fishing with my roommate yesterday on the Ocklawaha River and I came across a some moss that I believe to be star moss. I'm not sure if it is but here are some pictures. Let me know what you think it could be. Sorry about the poor quality. I was using my phone.
I tried researching and came across various people that say that star moss is not aquatic. I found it growing on the river and at times it was growing on logs that were sticking out of the water. We ventured out off the river for a short walk and i saw it growing on logs as well. There was also some other moss growing all on that river, both in and out of the water. It resembled java moss, but i felt like the leaves (if you can call them that) were larger. |

I have seen this moss grow all over the south east. Ive also seen it growing under water on rocks in fast flowing water. Im not sure what to think? I would at least give it a try and see how it grows for you.
The only time I saw this growing underwater was in very cold moving water. -A/O |
