When I first heard of this type of substrate and the results people were getting I had to give it a try. Although the preparation is very laborious I think it is well worth the efforts.
I used this tank to test as many stem plants as I could. Packed in as many stems as possible. Keep in mind this was no aquascape, just a collaboration of weeds to see how they would fare in such a substrate. ![]()

I can attest to this, been using mineralized soil for two years.
My tanks before: sorry a bit dark and just using phone cam on other pics: ![]() ![]() ![]() mixed red clay and mineralized soil, top it up with riversand: ![]() ![]() Thanks for watching.
