i didn't realize it had been as long as it's been since i updated this thread.

so... here's what it looks like today:

i really need to get the moss back in there. it's been sitting in a tub on top of the tank for a couple months now. i also need to do something about the snail population. there are ramshorns the size of quarters.

That looks real nice oldpunk. You ought to get you some loaches to eat those snails. What kind of sand did you use in this tank?

Your tank is filling in very nice. Although the crypt in the middle and far left seem out of place? Maybe tuck the far left crypt all the way in the back left corner? And the one in the middle tuck just further back maybe, blend it in some with the surrounding plants so you cant see its base?

haha - i see them when they're small and forget how big they get. i am kinda worried about moving them. something is telling me that the bigger one's roots are probably all over the place and i'll get a bunch of soil everywhere.

Go in with a razor or knife and carefully cut a small root ball to pull out. Make sure you cut all the way down to the glass. Then you can move the Crypt and replant easily.
